Elie Harbour and Elie & Earlsferry Beach are much-loved parts of the local community, enjoyed by residents and visitors throughout the year.
The Elie Harbour Trust cares for:
- Elie Harbour, its facilities and surrounding areas
- The harbour wall and pier, helping protect this historic structure
- Elie & Earlsferry Beach, almost a mile of beautiful golden sand at low tide
Maintaining these important local assets is an ongoing responsibility. Income from parking, boat launches, moorings and other harbour activities helps fund essential work, but larger repairs, improvements and long-term maintenance require additional support.
Your donation will help the Trust keep the harbour, beach, walls, buildings and facilities safe, attractive and accessible for everyone to enjoy—including future generations.
A place with a long history
Elie Harbour was established in 1582, replacing the earlier landing place at Earlsferry. By the 1800s, it had become an important commercial port and gateway to Fife. The harbour was expanded during the 1850s, with the causeway, road and pier helping to shape the harbour we know today.
Since 1974, the harbour has been cared for by the Elie Harbour Trust, a local charitable trust run by volunteer trustees. The harbour and beach are more than facilities: they are part of Elie’s history, character and community.
Thank you for helping to care for Elie Harbour and Beach.
